The Woman Behind the Mission
Jena Salisbury, MS, CNS, CNC
Founder of Innate Clinical Nutrition | Host of CNS Unfiltered
A licensed clinical nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner, and educator with over 13 years of experience in helping people heal from the inside out. Her journey began at Western Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Science and a Master Certificate in Holistic Health in 2011.
Jena spent the next seven years building and leading a functional medicine department, where she created clinical nutrition protocols, coached clients one-on-one, and immersed herself in ongoing research, forums, and national conferences to stay at the forefront of emerging science. This experience paved the way for her next chapter: partnering with traditional medical doctors to bring functional modalities and nutrition programs into their clinics. It was during this time that she developed her signature protocols—rooted in biochemistry, whole-body systems, and a belief in the body’s innate wisdom to heal.
To deepen her expertise, Jena pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition at Sonoran University, where she graduated with honors and became a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) in 2022.
For the past five years, she has worked at a high-level functional medicine clinic, managing a demanding caseload of complex clients navigating issues like gut dysfunction, mold toxicity, fatigue, immune dysregulation, and metabolic burnout. Known for her ability to connect deeply, think critically, and develop layered, personalized strategies, Jena brings a rare mix of clinical precision and whole-person care.
Driven by her mission to shift the future of healthcare, Jena launched the CNS Unfiltered podcast—a raw, real-world look at how functional nutrition practitioners think through clinical cases. Through this platform, she shares insights on navigating chronic illness without over-reliance on medications and brings a grounded, science-meets-spirit perspective to modern wellness.
Her work is centered on empowering individuals with tools they can control—nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset—to activate the body’s innate ability to heal.
